A Hill Climb with a Difference
Winner of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, no fewer than five times, Justin Law is no stranger to a hill climb. This however is taking things to a whole new level.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, also known as The Race to the Clouds, is the second oldest motorsport event in the US. The 12.5 mile track climbs 4,720 ft to the summit of Pikes Peak, Colorado.
Justin entered the 93rd edition of this legendary competition in a Jaguar F-Type. The car was fitted with CarbonRev wheels, wide body treatment as well as Bilstein MDS motorsport suspension. Apart from this, the car was largely a stock F-Type R.
Competing against seasoned veterans of the hill climb, Justin finished third in a class of 22 cars contesting the Time Attack 1 class and 20th position overall among the 133 vehicles that started the race. This was only one minute behind perennial front runner Jeff Zwart. Considering that it was the first time either the car or the driver had been introduced to Pike’s Peak, it was an incredible result.
Here’s the car running up the hill.
